Caring for mental health and wellbeing in the workplace

Many external as well as internal factors can affect our mental health and wellbeing. However, with many of us spending much of our time in our places of work it’s important to consider how our work could be affecting our mental health but also how our mental health can affect our work performance.

Because of this, employers should take steps to help promote the good mental health and wellbeing of their employees. Of course, not only does this take into consideration each individual but will help improve the performance of a team as a whole. Every day, working days are lost due to mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and stress and the number of days lost continues to rise.

Yet, there are things that can be done to help prevent this. We offer a variety of e-learning courses related to mental health and wellbeing including Mental Health First Aid, Stress Management and Supervising Mental Health at Work. As these are e-learning based courses this gives learners the flexibility to complete their training around other priorities and to be able to use the knowledge they have acquired to help promote a positive mental health culture in their workplace.

Of course, both employers and employees should learn the signs to look out for when an individual could potentially be struggling with their mental health and what resources to guide them to both in and outside of work.

You can find our range of mental health related e-learning courses here or feel free to get in touch with any questions.
