New or Renewing your CSCS Green Labourer Card

The CSCS Green Labourer Card, is an entry level pathway into the Construction Industry. It is accepted by employers to confirm awareness of health and safety competence for labouring roles on construction sites. To obtain a CSCS Green Labourer Card for Operatives, you must pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Test and complete the CITB Health & Safety Awareness Course.

Apply for a CSCS Green Labourer Card

To apply for a new or you need to renew your CSCS Green Labourer Card, please complete the following steps:

STEP 1. Book yourself onto our CITB Health & Safety Course.                         

STEP 2. If your CITB Health Safety & Environment (HS&E) Test is not within the last 2 years, book your CITB test.

STEP 3. Once you have completed STEP 1 & 2, you can apply for your CSCS Green Labourer Card. 

Validation of a CSCS Green Labourer Card

• The CSCS Green Labourer card is valid for two years on first application.
• Workers who continue in labouring roles can renew for five years. Evidence must be provided of your employment in a labouring role.
• Upon expiry of the CSCS Green Labourer Card, you must complete the CITB Health & Safety Awareness Course and pass the CITB Health Safety & Environment (HS&E) Test again when applying for a new card.
