CSCS Red Provisional Card

The CSCS Red Provisional Card is a temporary card that is issued to individuals in a probationary role while the employer evaluates the suitability for the job. You can only apply for the CSCS Red Provisional Card if you have never had a CSCS Card before and it can be issued once only. There is no evidence required of your qualification.

Apply for a CSCS Red Provisional Card

To apply for your CSCS Red Provisional Card, please complete the following steps:

STEP 1. Only apply for a CSCS Red Provisional Card if you have never had a CSCS card.                 

STEP 2. Book your CITB Health Safety & Environment (HS&E) Test.

STEP 3. Once you have completed STEP 1, 2 & 3, you can apply for your CSCS Red Provisional Card.

Validation of a CSCS Red Provisional Card

• The CSCS Red Provisional Card is a temporary card that is valid for six months.
• Individuals are expected to complete or be enrolled on a registered construction related qualification before the card expires.
• Upon expiry of the CSCS Red Provisional Card, your qualification must be one that leads to eligibility for a Skilled CSCS Card.
• The CSCS Red Provisional Card cannot be renewed.
