IOSH-CSCS update

The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) have announced that they are collaborating to improve data verification measures:

CSCS and IOSH collaborate to improve data verification measures | Official CSCS Website

As part of CSCS’s commitment to improving security standards, IOSH are undertaking security improvements in order to meet revised criteria concerning acceptance of certificates from its Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Workers course.

Until their successful completion of these improvements, IOSH’s network of training providers may continue to offer the course, but certificates of completion will not be considered eligible for CSCS card applications.

In response, and to ensure that fraudulent activity does not become prevalent within CITB’s Site Safety Plus (SSP) range of products, we are asking existing and new SSP training providers to be extra vigilant.

Whilst IOSH undertakes these improvements, CITB sees this as an opportunity to work with existing centres who may not have been delivering the SSP Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) course.
