It will highlight the requirement to promote health and safety to supervise effectively.<br \/>\nThis course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all supervisor working on Build UK sites.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Certificate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Delegates will be awarded with a certificate of attendance that lasts for 5 years. We recommend that this course is renewed every three years, we also offer the CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Refresher.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course Duration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 days<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Introduction \u2013 Introduce GE 706 &#8216;Site Supervision Simplified&#8217;.<br \/>\n\u2022 Aims and Objectives\u00a0\u2013 To understand:<br \/>\n&#8211; The problems of the industry: accident record, itinerant workforce.<br \/>\n&#8211; How the supervisory role fits in within the site management structure.<br \/>\n&#8211; How to use GE 06 chapter checklists as part of their daily duties.<br \/>\n&#8211; The role of the supervisor.<br \/>\n\u2022 Health and Safety Law\u00a0\u2013 Covering acts, regulations, approved codes of practices, guidance (HSE\/Industry), criminal law, powers of inspectors and improvement and prohibition notices.<br \/>\n\u2022 Controlling Workplace Hazards<br \/>\n&#8211; Safe systems of work<br \/>\n&#8211; Identifying hazards (physical, biological, chemical, ergonomic)<br \/>\n&#8211; Method statements<br \/>\n&#8211; Principles of prevention<br \/>\n&#8211; Special considerations<br \/>\n\u2022 Health and Safety Management<br \/>\n&#8211; The health and safety policy &#8211; why?<br \/>\n&#8211; Contents of the health and safety policy<br \/>\n&#8211; How to measure company health and safety performance<br \/>\n&#8211; The purpose of permit systems and how they work<br \/>\n\u2022 Workplace Hazards and Risk Controls<br \/>\n&#8211; Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005<br \/>\n&#8211; Vibration<br \/>\n&#8211; Respiratory risks including silica dust and asbestos<br \/>\n&#8211; Drugs and alcohol<br \/>\n&#8211; Dermatitis<br \/>\n&#8211; Asthma<br \/>\n&#8211; Health monitoring<br \/>\n\u2022 Fire Safety<br \/>\n\u2022 Chemical Hazards<br \/>\n\u2022 Construction (Design and Management) Regulations<br \/>\n\u2022 Working at Height<br \/>\n\u2022 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)<br \/>\n\u2022 Manual Handling<br \/>\n\u2022 Accidents, First Aid and Data Protection<br \/>\n\u2022 Intervention Skills and Behaviour<\/p>\n<p><strong>Entry Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are no formal entry requirements; however, delegates should hold or be about to hold the role of a supervisor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assessment\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Assessment will be by multiple choice questions at the end of the course.
