{"id":10535,"date":"2021-11-24T16:55:13","date_gmt":"2021-11-24T16:55:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mbosafetyservices.co.uk\/staging\/?post_type=lp_course&#038;p=10535"},"modified":"2023-02-21T12:14:11","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T12:14:11","slug":"face-fit-testing","status":"publish","type":"lp_course","link":"https:\/\/mbosafetyservices.co.uk\/staging\/courses\/training-courses\/face-fit-testing\/","title":{"rendered":"Face Fit Testing"},"content":{"rendered":"<style type=\"text\/css\"><\/style><p><strong>Delegates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Face fit testing is designed for anyone required to wear a mask to carry out their duties.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Certificate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Delegates will receive a certificate for the type of FFP3 mask tested.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>20 to 30 minutes per test.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A face fit test is a simple test to check whether a person\u2019s mask fits their face shape and size and protects them from hazardous droplets, aerosols, dusts, mists, and vapours that they are potentially exposed to during the working day.<br \/>\n\u2022 Delegates will be asked to wear their mask followed by a hood worn over their head for the test. A harmless aerosol will then be introduced into the hood, and they will be asked to perform a few different breathing, talking and movement activities to conduct the test.<br \/>\n\u2022 If delegates are able to taste the aerosol introduced into the hood, then the model of mask is not correct for their face.<br \/>\n\u2022 Each test will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes.<br \/>\n\u2022 Delegates are asked to be clean shaven (no more than 1 day\u2019s growth) and that they do not consume any food or drink or smoke a cigarette fifteen minutes prior to the test.<\/p>\n<p>Employers are legally responsible under The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the COSHH Regulations 2002 to control substances hazardous to health in the workplace and to prevent and adequately control their employees\u2019 exposure to those substances. Provision of RPE may be necessary as part of these controls.
