We recommend that this course is renewed every 3 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course duration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>6 hours<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Introduction \u2013 An overview of the course and discussion of attendees\u2019 current level of knowledge.<br \/>\n\u2022 UK Health and Safety Legislation \u2013 An outline of the key Health and Safety Regulations in particular those contained within the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 that companies in the UK need to comply with regarding COSHH.<br \/>\n\u2022 The Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging for Supply) Regulations (CHIP) \u2013 The responsibilities of suppliers as identified in CHIP regulations.<br \/>\n\u2022 Recognition \u2013 How to recognise what is considered to be a hazardous substance under COSHH and what is not. Understand the meaning of relevant warning symbols and the 3 different categories; liquid, solid and gaseous.<br \/>\n\u2022 Requirements \u2013 The 8 steps to follow in order to comply with COSHH.<br \/>\n\u2022 Risk \u2013 How to identify and mitigate or control risk. How to carry out COSHH Risk Assessments and the importance of safety data sheets.
