They can be an organisation or an individual with efficient\u00a0knowledge, experience and ability to carry out the role.<\/td>\n<td>Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety in \u00a0 the pre-construction phase of a project. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>identifying, eliminating or controlling foreseeable risks<\/li>\n<li>ensuring\u00a0designers carry out their duties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prepare and provide relevant information to other \u00a0 dutyholders.Liaise with the principal contractor to help in the \u00a0 planning, management, monitoring and coordination of the construction phase.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hse.gov.uk\/construction\/cdm\/2015\/principal-contractors.htm\">Principal\u00a0contractors<\/a><sup>[5]<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 Contractors appointed by the client to coordinate the construction phase of a project where it involves more than one contractor.<\/td>\n<td>Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety in \u00a0 the construction phase of a project. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>liaising\u00a0with the client and principal designer<\/li>\n<li>preparing\u00a0the\u00a0<a title=\"PDF\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hse.gov.uk\/pubns\/cis80.pdf\">construction\u00a0phase plan<\/a><sup>[6]<\/sup><\/li>\n<li>organising cooperation between contractors and coordinating their work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Make sure:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>suitable site inductions are provided<\/li>\n<li>reasonable steps are taken to prevent unauthorised access<\/li>\n<li>workers\u00a0are consulted and engaged in securing their\u00a0health and safety<\/li>\n<li>welfare facilities are provided<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hse.gov.uk\/construction\/cdm\/2015\/contractors.htm\">Contractors<\/a><sup>[7]<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 Those who carry out the\u00a0actual construction work, contractors can be an individual or a company.<\/td>\n<td>Plan, manage and monitor construction work under their \u00a0 control so it is carried out without risks to health and safety.For projects involving more than one contractor, coordinate their activities with others in the project team \u2013 in particular, \u00a0 comply with directions given to them by the principal designer or principal\u00a0contractor.For single contractor projects, prepare a\u00a0<a title=\"PDF\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hse.gov.uk\/pubns\/cis80.pdf\">construction phase\u00a0plan\u00a0<\/a><sup>[8]<\/sup>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hse.gov.uk\/construction\/cdm\/2015\/workers.htm\">Workers<\/a><sup>[9]<\/sup>\u00a0\u2013 Those working for or\u00a0under the control of contractors on a construction site.<\/td>\n<td>Workers must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be consulted about matters which affect their health, safety and welfare<\/li>\n<li>take\u00a0care of their own health and safety, and of others who might be affected by their actions<\/li>\n<li>report anything they see which is likely to endanger either their own or\u00a0others\u2019 health and safety<\/li>\n<li>cooperate with their employer, fellow workers, contractors and other dutyholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Organisations or individuals can carry out the role of more than one dutyholder, provided they have the skills, knowledge, experience and (if an organisation) the organisational capability necessary to carry out those roles in a way that secures health and safety.<\/p>\n<p>At MBO Safety Services Limited we can assist you to ensure all your duties are fulfilled in a professional manner.
