At MBO Safety Services, we are proud to stand behind the relaunch of UKATA’s Train Safe, Work Safe, Keep Safe campaign. This initiative, returning in 2026, plays a vital role in raising awareness of asbestos dangers and protecting those entering or re‑entering the workforce. As a UKATA member committed to improving safety standards across high‑risk industries, we fully support the renewed push to ensure that every worker has access to essential asbestos awareness training.
Why This Campaign Matters More Than Ever
UKATA’s campaign has been running since 2017, providing free asbestos awareness training to individuals who are unemployed, changing careers or stepping into trades where asbestos exposure remains a real threat. Despite decades of progress, asbestos continues to be one of the UK’s most serious occupational hazards. Each week, around twenty tradespeople lose their lives to asbestos‑related diseases.
The relaunch of this campaign is a timely reminder that safety education saves lives. By equipping people with the right knowledge at the right time, we can prevent avoidable exposure and build a stronger safety culture across the UK.
How MBO Safety Services Supports the Campaign
As a dedicated UKATA member, MBO Safety Services is committed to helping the campaign reach as many people as possible. Our role includes:
- Delivering accredited asbestos awareness training: We provide high quality, UKATA approved asbestos awareness courses designed to give individuals the confidence and understanding they need to stay safe on site.
- Supporting individuals entering high risk industries: Whether someone is new to the workforce or returning after a break, we help them gain the essential safety knowledge required to work responsibly and safely.
- Working collaboratively with Jobcentre Plus: We assist in ensuring that eligible individuals can access free training opportunities through the campaign.
- Promoting safe working practices across the sector: Our wider training portfolio reinforces the message that safety is not a one‑off lesson but a continuous commitment.
Our Commitment to a Safer Future
At MBO Safety Services, we believe that every worker deserves to go home safe at the end of the day. The relaunch of UKATA’s Train Safe, Work Safe, Keep Safe campaign aligns perfectly with our mission to raise standards, improve awareness and reduce the risks associated with asbestos exposure.
We will continue to work closely with UKATA, industry partners and local organisations to ensure that life saving training reaches those who need it most. Together, we can help shape a safer, more informed workforce for the future.
