My colleague Andy gives a run down of some of the things our consultants look for when attending site.
Why do I need to complete site inspections ?
Health and safety law requires you to monitor and inspect your workplace.
Site inspections also provide evidence that you are complying to the required health and safety standard. You may also require evidence of site inspections if you are applying for an accreditation such as CHAS or Constructionline.
Who can complete a site inspection?
Any one can complete a site inspection however you need to have knowledge and expertise of safety in your work environment in this case construction sites. you will need to be trained in how to complete a site inspections. You may feel that training in Site management (SMSTS) or Site supervision (SSSTS) would assist with the above. Maybe even progress into a health and safety role by completing a NEBOSH Qualification. All of these training requirements MBO can assist with.
Why are external site inspections beneficial?
External site inspections are impartial and will give a more accurate view of the site. Another pair of eyes can also flag up things that you may have missed and offer a different level of experience.
