NEBOSH E-Learning - Certificate in Fire Safety

MBO Safety Services Limited is a NEBOSH (The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) accredited training provider. We offer courses designed to equip managers, supervisors, and employees with the practical skills and knowledge to tackle a wide range of health and safety challenges especially those related to fire prevention and protection.

The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety is a respected qualification that provides a strong foundation in fire safety management. It’s ideal for those responsible for fire risk assessments and fire safety protocols, including fire marshals, facilities managers, health and safety officers, and anyone with fire safety duties across various industries. This course prepares learners to identify fire hazards, evaluate risks, and implement effective control measures to ensure workplace safety.

The NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate is recognised by the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) and supports progression to Associate Membership (AIIRSM). It’s widely valued by employers seeking competent professionals in fire safety management.

Delegates

The NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety is for individuals responsible for fire safety in low to medium risk workplaces, including Health and Safety Managers, Facilities Managers, and health and safety representatives across various business sectors.

Certificate

Certification will be awarded by NEBOSH on successful completion of each individual unit. However, to gain the full certificate all units must be successfully completed.

Course duration

The course takes approximately 56 hours to complete and is typically completed in 3 to 10 months.

Examination and assessments

This qualification has a two-step assessment process which consists of:

An open book examination: you will be able to complete this at home or in another safe and suitable location where you can concentrate. You will be presented with a scenario that describes a realistic workplace and situation. You will then be asked to carry out a series of tasks using evidence presented in the scenario as well as the underpinning knowledge you have gained through your studies and revision.

You will have 24 hours to complete and submit your paper - though you should be able to complete it in 4-5 hours.

A practical fire risk assessment: the fire risk assessment has been developed around fire risk assessment standards such as the Home Office fire guidance and PAS79-1:2020.

The time needed to complete the fire risk assessment is not restricted. We do, however, recommend that you take around three hours to complete all four parts of the assessment. We feel that the three hours will allow you to show your understanding of the assessment requirements and complete a good quality fire risk assessment.

Both assessments will be marked by an external examiner appointed by NEBOSH. These examiners are chosen for their experience and expertise to ensure that learners are assessed by the very best from our industry.
